ok for the second time since my laptop went stupid and turned off on me...
ok so slayers is showing on colours and the way the opening credits look it seems like they took them right from the fansub.
the quality is awfull, it seems like a really low quality fansub. and the words for the opening song look vary choppy and to compare the quality of the opening with the rest of the show theirs a clear difference.
so basicly to anyone who has seen the fansub (if one even exists) or the slayers episodes now playing on colours, what do you think? and why would they use the opening from a fansub? if they had access to the originals to make the english version why not just use that opening? it just doesnt make sence to me .

I doubt that they would've used a fansub. Were credits, titles, etc.? in English? If it were from a fansub, they still would've been in Japanese. The subtitles in the opening song (Japanese in white, English in yellow) are probably a remnant from the VHS versions that CPM originally released, when they did "hard" subtitles for songs. CPM also tended to use stylized titles, like putting "The Slayers" in the same coloration and style as the Japanese title that appears in katakana. (See also the Utena discs for this.) Slayers is just old in general, so it's natural that the video quality isn't that great.

what i ment was the opening theme thing, their arnt any credits but theirs one person speaking in english with english subtitles and everthing looks vary grainy(<< the word i was trying to think of when i wrote this). what your saying seems to be possible but still doesnt explain the crappy quality of the opening and thats the thing, the video quality for the rest of the episode is average for anime today but the openings quality is crappy to say the least.
