Well, if you must...
I am so happy this will last longer. I've been enjoying the hell out it after those first handful of episodes. My Saturdays will remain complete!

Good news. I'm glad to know that another sports series will remain especially for this show.

I don't even watch baseball but I love this show!
But forgive my ignorance, how exactly is this is show just running?
It hasn't been split into seasons or anything, so with this extension will it also just go on weekly with no breaks?

It's a bit strange, but cour refers to the quarterly runs of a series that tend to correspond with a season: winter, spring, summer, fall. Seasons are arbitrarily defined by the producers. So Ace of Diamond will be a 6 cour, 1 season show, unless it is extended again or they designate certain episodes as 'season 2.' Considering the information we have, the series will most likely go on with no breaks. Perhaps one week between the end of the summer quarter and start of fall.

Guess I better get on with this series then. Doubt it will be able to fill Oofuri's shoes.

I was just thinking to myself that everything I am watching (except Sailor Moon) would be ending after the summer. I guess that isn't the case anymore.

Well it is a completely different experience but still a very good one.

Once a series gets that long, cours stop being used and it just gets called a longrunner, and 18 months(75+ episodes) is enough for that, especially since it can get extended again.

^Yep. Love Oofuri too, but the team and rival dynamics in Ace are much different, partly because there are no characters as emotionally devastated as Mihashi.
Also, I really need to stress that I didn't find the first two or three episodes that great. Actually, I watched the first episode and quit for nearly 30 episodes. On a whim, I picked it up again and caught up once I began to enjoy it. Just a warning.

Yup! Was just trying to explain the concept of cours and seasons. There isn't much of a point in tracking cours for Ace because of its length; episode counts are probably more useful.

Awesome News!!! I was starting to wonder if this show would end abruptly at ep 52 given the way the matched are paced. But very happy to read this is getting more episodes. Personally love long series when sports, action is involved. At least more justice is done to the story then.
Looking forward to more of Sawamura
This is so awesome! first Akatsuki no Yona getting anime, then Kamisama Hajimemashita getting season 2 and now this show continuing till march! Its getting better and better by the day !!
