Looks great, I just wish it was handdrawn. I know Mamoru Oshii is a big fan of CG, but I wasn't expecting the whole thing to be.

Well, it looks more interesting than Assault. Man that film was a beautiful waste of my time. Maybe I just don't understand the greatness of this man.

Although Oshii may have never meant it to be, I choose to see Assault Girls as a brilliant subtle self-parody, for it to be filled with all the classic Oshii tropes and yet amount to amusing pointlessness (the blunt "ending" notwithstanding).

That said, definitely looking forward to this one (no surprise there's a basset hound). Guess it'll be a good long while before it hits Blu-ray here, or since it's English to begin with I can easily import it from Japan.

I heard about this movie a couple years ago but with no new news I thought it had disappeared. I was surprised that they had already finished and even had a trailer. Anyways, the movie looks awesome. The masks some of them use remind me of Nausica.

Yup, I also recognized his style. Love his music.

That was a pretty awesome looking trailer.
