Nope, sorry, try again. その最終話の放送を来週にひかえ means "ahead of the final episode which will air next week". Besides, if you check pretty much any TV schedule, you'd know that the final episode hasn't even aired yet. I can sort of understand the confusion though, since announcing it like this BEFORE the finale is kind of unconventional.
Still doesn't excuse the lack of proofreading in the article despite the news being four hours old, though.

Niiiiiice. The story to this is actually not half bad. I'm just glad that I'll possibly see Zest in the harem. I'm not sure how far that is into the novels though.

I bet the show was originally planned for a split cour.

Unless it was already planned as a split show, seems strange to get another run in the fall. Especially when they don't know how well the sales of "Season 1" will do.

Yes, I have no doubt about the split-cour. And the choice of Fall is adequate - on the one hand it's the time, on the other - in contrast to Summer, where the entire target audience will go watch To Love-Ru Darkness and Monster Musume to Iru Nichijou, Shinmai Maou have at least some chance...

Oh my god i just actually wished for this to have a second season just yesterday,,,,HAHAHA i can't believe it...
Sales wise the pre stalker estimates are between 4.7 to 5k which for a harem series is pretty good.......
Yeah i can't wait to see it...but most likely yes i think it might be splt cour....if not....well that is quite peculiar

I don't know... Usually split-cours are a season apart - in this case it would be Winter -> Summer - not 2 seasons apart. I think that it's more like a split-cour was considered (by Production Committee, by the animation studio, by the LN publisher, whatevs), but it wasn't given the final OK until pretty late into production, which would mean that securing a Summer slot was difficult to nigh-impossible.
I'm sure that not having to air in the same season as To Love-Ru Darkness 2nd, Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai, Kūsen Madōshi Kōhosei no Kyōkan or Monster Musume no Iru Nichijō saved some years from the exec's lifespan, though

YES YES YES! Best news I've heard this month (well kinda level). Adore this series, glad we're getting another season. Fully deserves one, one of the top shows this season without doubt (just ignore the poorish animation on occasion).
The downside means I'll have to find more room for the BDs when they come out and my wallet is fearing this already.

This'll be good for the fans of this series who apparently exist.

I haven't watched any of Sister New Devil (yet) though I'm very likely to start - so I'm truly just curious, as the premise seems exceedingly similar...is it just me or is this INCREDIBLY similar to High School DxD? Possibly even helping take up a little of the slack before HSDxD's 3rd season is due out?
Don't misunderstand though - I'm not bashing it by any stretch. I'm merely curious. As such, for those who've seen both, which do you prefer / think is better in your opinion?

@Revy's MINE!
High School DxD is much the better program. However this is not an either or situation. Sister New Devil is available on Crunchyroll and try it yourself.
Both shows are action/harem and both shows involve devils. Otherwise there is little relationship. Apparently western style devils along with more typically Japanese monsters/supernatural creatures are in these days.
