I can see why these are needed, if I were back in middle school someone would have had to do one heck of a sales job on me to get me interested in Kanji. I mean who wouldn't love to spend years memorizing +3000 intricate characters by rote rather than spelling the words out with a set of ~50 simple characters. Call it "girl writing" but it's easy. And to the aho's at Tokyo University who claim it's easy to guess the kanji meaings based on what it looks like, even your drawings to make the underlying image "visible" fail. "Kaze" doesn't look like a bearded guy blowing with his mouth no matter how you look at it. I personally believe these were made up by Chinese teachers of antiquity to be so hard that only a very small percentage of the population could ever hope to learn them and so have a "leg up" on the commoners.

I really hate it when you click on what looks like a link and it turns out to be either an advertisement, a search page, someone's FB page with the same words as the link, etc. etc...
