Is the difference between this and the original Gravity Rush great enough to have a US$30 price tag? (That aside, it is just one console generation ago.)

Disappointing, but at least this is a "definitive" edition that won't have any new DLC, so it should be an easy import for those that want the disc.
As for me, I'm good with the Vita version.

"Digital-only," but Japan and Europe are getting a limited-edition physical copy, with a Figma of Kat to go along with it...
Yep, if Nintendo of America's digital-only debut of Fatal Frame 5 is anything to go by, I don't think this is going to bode well for a lot of people that were excited for this remaster of Gravity Rush.

I'll be buying it anyway, and may import too, but that's super lazy on SCEA's part when both Sony Japan and Sony Europe are giving it physical editions.

For me it will be, $30's not bad for a good remaster and I loved the original game, but it's true that it is obviously going to be exactly the same game plus the three DLC packs included and some nice graphics and performance upgrades.
Those upgrades from the Vita should be pretty nice since one of the best remaster and porting devs in Blue Point is apparently handling the remaster.

unrelated:
so now NA gamers know what it feels like to only get a digital-only release games whereas Europe gets a retail release.
I swear EU/AU cops the most getting digi-only stuff whereas merica gets all the good stuff im getting sick of it

You can still import the European version though.

While understandable in a way, SCEA is blowing a golden opportunity.
The people who are interested in this product are precisely the kind of people who'll buy into a nice expensive limited edition physical run.
Toss in an art book, figma, CD soundtrack, make it $100+ or so and watch those pre-order numbers soar.
Exploitative? Certainly, but the people who want this won't complain if they're getting something good for the money.
You're leaving money on the table Sony.
Looks like I'll be looking to import a European physical version.
Digital-only can kiss my ass. I can understand it for some small indie affair that's 500 MBs and under that ain't gonna be worth the cost. But this doesn't fall under that category.

I would have gladly bought it if it was physical Sony. Now you don't get my money. I'll keep my Vita version close.

I'm tired of these companies doing this in the US, if your not going to release a physical copy in the states, I'm not buying your game. I'm boycotting this game, just like I am boycotting Fatal Frame on Wii U.

Refusing not to buy it does nothing other than convince them to either keep doing digital only or not localizing it period.
Self fulfilling prophecy much?
