Not too far off from what happened in the Sore ga Seiyuu anime. One of the characters injured their foot while practicing and performed in a chair for the concert.

Chiaki's injury could be a matter of hindsight if it took place after the episode aired.

I'm so glad someone else noticed the parallel. The show didn't seem so popular during its run time and I was sad that ANN didn't review it.

It's surprisingly awesome that Ms. Takahashi-san still gets to sing onstage despite her crippling injury. I find this to be an epic moment.
