Wow. Just wow. That's some skill. Be funny if you could use this as a prank. But this is really really cool.

People damaging it on the basis that there were no signs saying not to is pretty ridiculous.

This is a pretty cool project. If I lived within a couple hours of there, I would definitely stop by to take a look. That CEO guy seems like a pretty amusing character.

It would be cool if the cardboard manufacturer replicated the Lamborghini Estoque and Asterion concept cars out of cardboard as well.

For the production models, I'm placing my bets on the Countach and Huracan. Or perhaps the ultra-rare Egoista.

Very neat manufacturing of this cardboard beauty! Smile It's totally unfortunate that the miscreants had to ruin everything with their vandalizing of the Damborghini.

They should have gotten car insurance. Very Happy

But seriously, why would you want to damage a work of art like that?

You think people would know to look and not touch a piece of art work but I guess not. Rolling Eyes

I skimmed through the headlines and for a second thought that the person building it had run out of cardboard to use.

Heh, this looks like something that came out of a Dreamcast game. Pretty cool.

I'd say it's something to be expected if it's put out on display without supervision with no barriers and in an area with a lot of passers-by. Eventually, someone will vandalize it.

Most vandalism happens simply because the vandal believes he or she can get away with it without getting in trouble, with the exception of graffiti. With a case like this, I suspect the vandal damaged the car to see if he or she could do it, or knowing that someone would be upset over it.

That being said, it's also pretty likely it was an unsupervised child who was overly curious and wondered how sturdy the cardboard really was.

Why do you think art museums have guards? (Besides to prevent people from stealing art, at least.)

There are a few art exhibits that are designed to have people touch and mess around with it though. I remember a hallway in a museum with picture frames lining the sides with the words "DO NOT TOUCH" written on them. At the end was one that said "TOUCH" and was the only one with glass on it. The glass was full of fingerprints. The guard said that he constantly has to tell people not to touch the one at the end (though I wonder if the artist wants people to touch it).

Having seen Lamborghini owners trying to navigate congested roads, I can assert that this facsimile is also just as practical as the real item.
