This is really cool, and it's nice to see a focus not just an artists but on people who may not have all the abilities to make manga by themselves. I actually really like manga made by one person because it usually feels a lot more personal, but even just having an author/writer team can create really high quality manga and doujin circles have existed for ages.
I also think it would be easier on the mangaka because they are often overworked, even with assistants.
In the documentary series Manben you get to see him working on a chapter himself, and the series has tons of other guests on it too. He doesn't actually draw a lot these days due to age and prefers to mostly do the composition, a few choice pages and directing his assistants. He prefers to act more like a film director rather than a traditional mangaka.
