Am I the only one who thinks that the character designs look a lot like Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood? That looks like Fuhrer King Bradley in the back and the one in red kind of looks like a mix of Ling and Edward.
Just generally looks like that FMA's style anyway.

That's because the source manga was drawn(but not written) by Hiromu Arakawa, FMA's mangaka.

Arakawa made Hero Tales right when she was coming off of Fullmetal Alchemist, so the designs were probably created while that manga was still in production.
