I like the concept of old LCD games (and Game & Watch clams and wearable watches were a big part of my childhood) but the execution of the concept in that trailer looks abysmal, way too much happening on screen at the same time.

Agreed. That style requires a kind of minimalism in order to be playable at an even moderately fast speed.
A couple of the ones they showed almost had me go cross-eyed trying to follow what was going on.
Like the idea in theory, not really liking the execution.
