To be honest I think Alita is niche even in anime community at least in west. Alita can be treat in some sense as original work. Well I won't be suprised if we get more anime adaptation regardless Alita success or failure.

Would have been a great opportunity to re-release the OVA since it’s been OOP for so long now. Maybe even Remaster it. Though there’s likely enough material to make a full Anime if this does well.

The Battle Angel Alita DVD is still available from Section23 Films but it would be nice to have a BD upgrade of it.
