Shouldn't it have gone to Funimation (because of the Sony connection)? Crunchyroll must have paid a lot of money for this dub.

It could soon enough. There are some English dubs from Aniplex that are both on FunimationNOW and Crunchyroll.

I know it's already on Netflix, but it's good to see the English dub getting more out there.

Does it work that way? I mean Aniplex USA and Funimation are still separate divisions.

I mean, Funimation has exclusivity over Aniplex USA simulcasts (CR is getting them delayed). There has to be a substantial connection.
