The story of Romonon is interesting because it closely parallels the modern witch society--a group of people with great power but also great elitism, distrustful of all outsiders and looking down on even their own people who don't meet their lofty standards (having a minor disability, or performance anxiety, or...)--but the witches don't quite seem to make this connection. If Qifrey sees it, he doesn't say so. They also either didn't know about or covered up the population of living statues in the Romonon ruins. Both suspiciousness and foreshadowing there; maybe that ancient society didn't really vanish after all.
Coco-and-company will likely have to reconcile the conflict between the brimmed and un-brimmed caps, but how that's going to happen remains to be seen.
