As far as fanservice material goes in the novels, spoiler[Elaina strips down to her underwear while changing clothes to act in place of someone, and a male student asks what color her underwear is].
In short, Wandering Witch isn't that kind of series at all. |

Exactly. It makes me more interested in the series just knowing the author had a request like that. Fanservice scenes are a huge turn-off for me, and tend to hinder my enjoyment of a series. |

It is nice to know that the creator is serious about such a thing, though. Having read two volumes of the novel, it really isn't that kind of series. |

Kind of a lame request, IMO. there are times where a "panty shot" makes 100% sense such as if she's on her broom while wearing a skirt/dress. Those should be 100% fine. "No unnecessary panty shots" would've been better

Question is, does the light novel creator or the anime staff have any say in the matter? I am sure to side with the creator on how he wants his story presented, but is that actually written down in the contract. The production committee may decide that this IP needs fan service to bring in the numbers. Who knows what will actually happen. Guess we will have to stay tuned.
I just don't want the onus or backlash put on the anime staff, when they might not even be the decision makers for that. |
