Yay! Despite the ‘animation’, I’ve been having a lot of fun watching it. In the meantime, I will buy the first volume of the manga

They ran out of potatoes to animate with, were too cheap for a PowerPoint license, so they made the show using Google Slides instead.

Can we please get rid of kon as director and get an animation budget for the next part PLEASE!
Really all I want for this series is not one of the worst directors, and for the anime to have animation frames is that to much to ask for . ALSO ANN where is the review for this series. |

It's not about the budget... The producer was the one who told Kon to animate it that way. https://twitter.com/Aochhii/status/1366606985139916801?s=20 |

Yeah if you are going to blame anyone, blame the friggin producer. He's the reason why it looks like it does. It's not a money thing. Most anime have the same budgets..it all depends on what resources and people ya get...

Honestly I'm not really bothered by the "animation".
I like the concept and it was pretty fun to watch on the side, but nothing special. I'll gladly take a 2nd season though. |

I more meant the preview for it sorry, I mean it did come out with the first episode during the preview guide after all, unlike all the other netflix stuff |

I think the show was likely always planned to be a two cour and they just decided to split it up if it's announced already.

While it's a real shame about animation (or, rather, about lack of it), I still very much enjoyed it. Strong source material an great voice acting carried this show.

No one is more shocked than I am to discover that not only did I not hate this adaptation, I actually laughed a lot. When I saw the trailer, my heart dropped through the floor and i was dreading it but it actually is not that bad. While it could look a lot better considering the static nature (where is a all the great shading for Tatsu's face in particular?!), it is still very faithful to the manga and gets the comedy across. I will happily watch more. Meanwhile, I'm guessing sales of the manga have greatly increased, which is, of course, always one of the reasons for making any source material into anime.

I'm interested to watch the 2nd Part. I enjoyed what I watched. Sure it could've been better with actual animation but I had a good laugh with it.

Such a waste of great source material and a superb performance by Kenjirou Tsuda.
I expect nothing but more disappointment from part 2. If you're going to do a panel for panel adaptation, at least make the drawings better. |
