Ironic that this will likely be Ash's final movie appearance and it's the one in which he's the least consequential.

If I can give this movie one thing, it's that it gave me an appreciation for the contributions Aya Takaha and Eiji Umehara had for Everyone's Story. Their screenplay sure did a lot of heavy lifting that Yajima couldn't match when he tried to do it himself along with one of the show's cadre of burnt-out writers.

The movies can be kind of cheesy, but in the grand scheme of things, they tend to be little more than just glorified advertisements for whatever Legendary/Mythical they cooked up for the current gen. Doesn't mean they can't be enjoyed, but still.

I saw the movie awhile back and my opinion on it is pretty, "Eh, it's fine." It's the weakest of the three movie-canon movies (though being fair Power of Us is probably my favorite Pokemon movie period) but that still makes it better than a lot of the other Pokemon movies.
