Oh yeah! Rica and Iku-chan now getting an award before the end of their journey as Satoshi and Pikachu. It's really coming to an end. Congrats to them.

I'm sorry, but I have to say this. This is pure laziness on Rafael's part for erasing Rica's role as Satoshi and replacing it with an English localization name she isn't even credited as. Not just Rafael, but the other ANN staff reporting on the Japanese side of the anime. For the past Pocket Monsters series articles (from the top of my head since last year), I have seen you guys just say "Ash" in Japanese news articles without even a mention of Satoshi. I kept quiet, but this is the one. This is a Japanese award, for a Japanese voice actor/actress, for a Japanese title that they work on in Japan. How do you end it with "Ash"? How hard is it to say "Satoshi"? or "Satoshi/Ash" to accommodate the English readers? Just "Ash" is outright wrong. If you click her page, you will see that she is credited as Satoshi so why are you erasing Japanese history? Did I have to say erasing? Yes. This isn't just on ANN, but on other sites. You all take the Japanese info and use whatever overseas localization names/titles you know it as and replace it. But if you're reporting on a (say) American show being aired in Japan and the Japanese localization changes the names/titles, you'd still use the English names/titles in the reporting and wouldn't even mention the JP localization names/titles. Because I'm about to open a big can of worms if I continue, all I will say is that you know what it is.
It costs nothing to report correct Japanese information. It costs a bit of time to add the English localization to the article. It costs tegridy to outright erase Japanese history.
PS: Before someone says it... Yes, I see "Pokemon" while I'm addressing "Ash". Rica voiced Satoshi in Pokemon Sunday, so I'm letting it slide. The same cannot be said for "Ash" since that is pure English dub.

I'm all for dubs using the Japanese names, but Ash Ketchum is the official localized name and has the seal of approval from Nintendo, Game Freak, and TPCI for all licensed products with his character for most global audiences and not just the US.
