Wasn't expecting much since the focus will obviously be on P4R for now, but this is interesting. Wonder how much of this will actually be representative of the game, vs P5's "you are slave, want emancipation?" teaser

I'm so excited!!!
Now that i'm almost 40, I vary rarely get excited for video game releases nowadays , except for pretty much anything atlus releases.
Now i just need to save money for both CEs of this and P4 Revival that i know they are going to get.

Seems like they're continuing the motif of building each new Persona around a film genre. P4 was a murder mystery, P5 was a heist film, now it looks like P6 will be a horror movie. It's even got ectoplasmic green as its theme color.
Calling it now: this time the Velvet Room will be a morgue, with Igor (or the assistant) themed after a mortician and the protagonist finding himself on a slab each time he enters.

Good that it's been confirmed, but probably going to wait 2-3 years after release to get. Don't want another Royal situation where I buy it, and an improved version gets released a year later.

Damn, it doesn't even feel like it's been ten years.

Considering how the new Crazy Taxi has been revealed to be used GenAI, I'm just gonna treat every SEGA release with scrutiny

I've seen a post on a forum which said P6 will be influenced by urban legends and the occult, those are genres that have had a sort of a resurgence in the last few years, maybe the staff at Atlus liked Dan Da Dan

Occult theme sounds nice. Expecting some yokai-themed stuff like Gegege no Kitaro or Dandadan. We'll see if Atlus can deliver a good Persona game without Hashino, but then Metaphor was kind of a disappointment in itself.

I get that line of thinking but honestly I still love the original Personas 4 and 5 more in a lot of areas especially the story. It's very clear how those games had their own tightly written cohesive story and narrative which later had to be injected with extra scenes for the stuff added to Golden/Royal that really mess with the flow. And in 5's case completely undermine and ruin some of the best scenes in the game. Also I think they pinky promised not to do that anymore starting with Metaphor but we'll see. I still think it's worth playing even if it gets a later revision. Perhaps it's worth playing specifically because of that before the original becomes unlisted and unavailable.

I kind of hope so just because maybe it'll act as repellent for some of the more toxic part of the Persona fandom and keep them away from the series from now on.

I don't know if you've ever watched The Boondocks in life, but there's a scene where Riley asks Granddad if he's ashamed of them, to which he replies: VERY!!
Just know that I'm agreeing emphatically in his voice lol

I'm aware of some of the changes to the story, and do think some of them reduce the quality of it (similar to how I feel about the latest GoW game), but I'd still rather just buy the "complete" one rather than acting like they're both worthy of purchase. I've treated the Atelier series like that, and I'm treating Ys like that (because of Proud Nordics) even if the higher ups "promise" to not do it again. The series aren't important enough to me to risk that.

Persona 5 was limited by the PS3, ReFantazio by the PS4 and the remakes of 3&4 are limited by the original designs and their budgets. Persona will see a 2-generation jump this time.

Perhaps I've misunderstood, so let me just ask to double check. Are you suggesting that P6 using generative AI would be a good thing?

Much of us bought the game on PS4 don’t recall the game feeling limited at least not in that way.

Maybe I need to replay those games which I played a number of times but their stories even without factoring in the new content was anything but “tightly written or cohesive”. Especially Personal 5 Standard.
