I'm going to say no. If anyone was going to be the meme choice it would be Gudetama.

Also seeing Jewelpet down at the bottom is a stab in the heart for me. That franchise really is dead.

Nay, Pompompurin honestly is very popular among the Sanrio fans (and also heavy marketed), so I can see the appeal.
