This just seems too crazy to miss out on. Also, it was included in a "Most Anticipated Anime of Fall 2025" list I saw on YT that made it seem extremely kickass.

The premise sounds interesting yet at the same time also kind of creepy, not in a bad way though.

I am not sure how I feel about the first episode. The premise is interesting with it being clear that something has gone rather wrong with their society (seemingly with nature/the seasons too). Sanda's Santa curse is something I would like to know more about too and Fuyumura is a wild one to say the least. The unique look I appreciate a lot.

My one doubt and the reason I am currently unsure is the pacing. It is clear that it is not a slow paced show but the first episode managed to make Dan Da Dan look slow by comparison. I will keep on watching and look forward to more but it may be a bit too fast paced for me to fully enjoy what is happening.

Episode 1

Easily my favourite debut of the season, not that the competition is particularly stiff. I love the bizarre premise and humour. Sanda's belief that Fuyumura's murderous intent was mere puberty-speak for "I dig you" cracked me up. I really want Ono to be alive so I'm quite invested in the mission to find her. Obviously a classmate knows about Sanda's curse so it'll be interesting to see what that portends. Great start!

I do wonder how dark and creepy it will get. That one teacher seemed almost brainwashed in how she was acting. Combine that with everything else plus children disappearing and who knows how it will end up.

I also think Sanda is outstretched hands and tippytoes above any of the other anime premieres I have seen this season. I love the zany energy and the original idea and the animation style that looks like the Nightmare Before Christmas was cartoon-ized.

Yeah, I'm still seeing a huge Tim Burton influence on or in this anime. The emerging primary antagonist - some youth obsessed ghoul who gives off an energy like the children catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - could easily have stepped out of a Burton movie.

The zany energy from episode 1 is still present, and the twisted but apparently redeemable - kind of like a pretzel I guess - roommate isn't a bad addition to the cast, especially since he's become the bait and/or armor chink in the Santa...I mean...Sanda? alliance after drawing the attention of the headmaster.

I have a lot of questions about this world - why would there be a Santa extermination squad in a world where children are such a precious resource that they are allowed insane privileges? Is this dystopia just a reflection of Japan's declining population crisis, or is there something more predatory at work?

The strange war going on in the MC's psyche between his archetypal values and his true self is also interesting.

Digging it.

That is a curious assessment seeing that I usually read too much into anything but I think the one is just "it sounds right so why not?"

At the end of the first episode, I thought it'd be introducing Santa's sleigh but no, those are clearly skis.... I suddenly would hate to see "Santa's sack".

I think Santa facts are being used figuratively but expressed literally and it's really weird because it's usually the other way around. In most stories, literal actions are shown to describe figurative situations. Here... the scenario is literal but the actions are figurative. Does that make sense?

Really, it's the only way to explain a metal rod sticking out of Sanda's foot and still remain sane.

Episode 4

Still enjoying this but I really could have done without all the emphasis on Santa's North Pole. Really don't want to have to be contemplating the concept of Santa's wang, thank you very much. I have no idea why Sanda thought it was a good idea to ditch his gauchies in mid-battle.

And I'm out. I give this show 10 out of 10 for the relentless examination of its theme (the terror and ecstasy of puberty). Sadly, it's not a theme I give a shit about. I'm not sure I've ever watched a show where EVERY! SINGLE! SCENE! drove home its thematic point. Plus, I'm in a current anime mood where I just can't deal with anything that isn't basically 100% delighting me.

I didn't watch it last week but I did so with the idea that I'd double dip it this weekend. Still, not a good sign.

I am a few episodes behind but I am still very interested to watch the show until the end. Part of that is the setting which keeps getting more disturbed with the school being rather dystopian. The contradictory wish of wanting to keep the children youthful/stagnant as long as possible whatever the means plus needing adults to make more children is something.

Still trucking along and intentionally keeping a few episodes in reserve because the show is so addictive to watch. The disturbing setting is somehow still becoming more effed up by the week. That goes particularly for class 10 and Namatame the cheerful yet brutal killer. It makes me curious how society looks beyond the school.
