Dunno about this one. Love the concept, but dear God the animation on the trailer looked like a$$. Hopefully it's just bad...trailering?

That is an easy drop for me. I am not a big fan of super edgy anime but even worse is trying to be edgy yet failing at it thus being boring. The mc being so unlikable seals the deal. Can you handle it Edjwald? |

shortly into the first episode I found myself kind of confused, as the animation and style is not half bad, but the pacing and stuff was absolutely terrible. Even ignoring the overly edgy stuff that feels like someone's "I am so deep", just following it was just weird. I couldn't tell if characters were supposed to know each other beforehand, and plot points just seem to happen. Like in one scene the teenagers and the Vlad guy were supposed to have a conflict end, and in the very next scene they were meeting again.
Either someone was really put on a crunch for what they had to fit into the first episode, or someone is really bad at storyboarding. |

I actually didn't mind this. I like the premise a lot. Let's see if I last until the end. Of course, as someone who occasionally watched Seinfeld back in the day, I can't help but think of the name Neumann in a certain way...

Super fast drop from me.
Leave it to Japan to try to make "self deletion" into a super power. Or you literally live long enough to become a super villain. Like Fish. Albert Fish, notable child killer, molester and cannibal.... and you make THAT into a super power, Japan. Nobanagun was a fun version of this, with its own serial killer revamp of Jack the Ripper with added backstory to make that character work. But a story that just does "you're suddenly Fish"... "... and Dictators." NO There isn't a building tall enough for me to drop this show off. This show's own premise can be undone by not doing what it's doing... |

Well, Smurk, I have a very hard time picturing myself sticking with this show past episode 2.
Like Blood, I also kept flashing to Jerry Seinfeld muttering, "Neuman!" beneath his breath, and I think the concept is great. But I've got some pretty huge problems with the anime. As Dusky and animegomaniac mentioned, the pacing outstrips any real development or logic. Here's the rando cannibal plot. Here's the transfer student. Here's the secret lair with no clue as to who's paying for it or how long it's been around or what have you. Here's a mission. Here's the rando cannibal who has apparently lost all caution since being a notorious serial killer. Fight, fight, fight! Etc. And what #$%#ing sense does it make that Vlad the Impaler would confront the MC with absolutely no plan or protection or paranoia, powerlessly demanding to get his talent back? After lecturing everyone for being naive and impulsive for fifteen minutes straight at that. Personal preference issue #2: I'm cool with audiobooks, and I'm cool with comic books, and I'm cool with anime, but I have a personal dislike of anime full of still frames and CGI. A really good story triumphs over all, and I admit that they use a mix of techniques pretty creatively here so that it's less annoying to me than usual. Still, there were tons of small moments that kept bugging me...like watching those cars go past the screen as if cut-outs pushed by a popsicle stick, etc. I'm also not enthusiastic about spending 13 episodes watching some Costco version of Sylar from that old "Heroes" show run amok being an edgelord. The only reason I'm going to check out out episode 2 is that I'm curious to see if Shmucko really is the MC, or if someone else is going to take over the narrative focus. |

I made it literally 1 second. "I want to have talent" was as far as I got.
