A sh*t Netflix again! I really hate it when one of my anticipated anime is licensed by Netflix. So this will be a roll in the dice if it's going to be a simulcast, a binge release or 1 or a couple of weeks/months delayed.

Netflix's anime releases have been pretty predictable:
- If the show is fully exclusive to Netflix and doesn't air on TV in Japan: All episodes released together or in batches - If the show airs on TV in Japan and Netflix only has streaming rights: Episodes are released weekly There are of course exceptions like The Fragrant Flower that released weekly in Japan but had different delays around the world (but still released weekly). Since Sparks of Tomorrow of tomorrow airs on TV and Netflix only has exclusive streaming rights, I expect it to be released weekly on Netflix as well. |

Let's be honest bro, it was gonna be either Crunchyroll or Netflix (or Disney+) who'd pick it up, Sentai has been irrelevant ever since AMC bought it |

Sentai was already irrelevant before AMC bought it. But for about 15 months it looked as if it could compete with Crunchyroll when they licensed about 10 shows per season from April 2022 to April 2023. |

It's still awful. We're talking about the same network that subbed "Dietfried" in Violet Evergarden as "Diethard" somehow. Among hundreds of other errors every single year. I have issues with Crunchyroll localization, grammar mistakes, and translations but Netflix is far worse. Netflix getting this exclusively sucks for everyone except Netflix |

There's also shows which aired in Japan and only got streamed in English months later like Seven Deadly Sins. Can't wait for Netflix to not translate any signs the instant dialogue is on the screen! |

Netflix's recent release of Love through a Prism was excellent, particularly their English dub. I think the negative expectations in the forum here are too harsh.

I just want a simulcast for the English subs. Not a 1 week delay like Blue Box, not a 2 months delay like The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity which Netflix held the English sub simulcast on hostage just because they want to release the dub at the same time, and definitely not a 3 months or more delay with all episodes released at once.
This is not always the case though. Blue Box was on a 1 week delay outside of SEA region even though it was airing on TV and on Netflix in Japan. |

Going to be real, Netflix licensing another anime for their service just almost 3 weeks since they licensed The Ramparts on Ice was not on my Netflix licensing anime Bingo Card. Although interestingly, this is Netflix's first anime they licensed from Kyoto Animation since Violet Evergarden after they passed out on licensing CITY: The Animation last year, which makes me wonder why Netflix didn't bother licensing CITY: The Animation, New Panty & Stocking and Sanda last year with Prime Video getting the license of them and were just "content" with Sakamoto Days, heck didn't even bothered licensing or were interested with Champignon no Majo, The Holy Grail of Eris, and Scum of the Brave 3-4 months before their January 2026 release, resulting in Crunchyroll getting the license. Personally Netflix are so selective on which anime (regardless if it’s a well-known or popular title) they are interested in licensing for their service depending on the season (Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall) and if they were to license one of those anime series for the Winter 2026 season it would’ve happened 3-4 or 4-6 months in advance as shown when Netflix licensed Sakamoto Days and Delicious in Dungeon 5-6 months before their January release and more recently with their license of The Ramparts on Ice 3 months before the anime's January release and now Sparks of Tomorrow 6 months before its July 2026 release.
I don't know why you're adamant about this, Netflix moved past the "Netflix Jail" phase and since My Happy Marriage most of their licensed anime have been released weekly (except Fragrant Flower) the same day as their Japanese TV release.
I personally thought either Prime Video or Crunchyroll was going to get Sparks of Tomorrow. Honestly, when it comes to Netflix licensing their anime exclusively on their service usually they either license them 3-4 months in advance before their release, as shown with Netflix's license on My Happy Marriage, Blue Box, Ranma ½, and now The Ramparts on Ice or on most cases 6-7 months in advance before their release as shown when Netflix got Delicious in Dungeon, Sakamoto Days, The Summer Hikaru Died and Sparks of Tomorrow 5-6 months before their official release. |

Netflix no longer does that for most of its current licensed anime since My Happy Marriage. The Reason, Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse had it's episodes not being simulcasted the same day as Japan and released 3-4 months later on the Netflix streaming service was that it was one of Netflix's earlier anime they licensed before having most of their current licensed anime series, since My Happy Marriage being simulcast the same day as Japan. So there is no doubt that Sparks of Tomorrow will be simulcast the same day as its Japanese TV release. I just don't understand the skepticism and worry from the vast majority, you saying that Netflix is going back to their "Netflix Jail" habits for their licensed anime when they moved past that since My Happy Marriage.

I think you're mistaking Blue Box for Blue Period, which got a 1 week delay from it's Japanese broadcast as did Komi Can't Communicate which had a 2 week simulcast delay and was 2 episodes behind when the first episode was released on Netflix. I don't recall Blue Box having a one-week delay when it was simulcast the same day as it's Japanese version, just without the dub. Regarding The Fragrant Flower having it's dub and episode releases pushed back by two months, it was because it was a last-minute license by Netflix, who usually license their anime 3-4 or 5-6 months before the release but due to the fact they licensed it at the end of June and also were putting more attention with Cour 2 of Sakamoto Days which their were simulcasting with a dub along with their third party simulcasts for Dan Dan Dan Season 2, and Witch Watch (which the latter two anime were commissioned by MBS yet their international dubs were commissioned by Netflix) it gave them little room for The Fragrant Flower so the dub and episodes were delayed for two months until September 2025. |
