So Square Enix is moving away from exclusives, yet here they are excluding playstation. And for what? Are they hoping to get the same 4 digit sales numbers on Xbox they got for FF16?
What an absolute joke of a company.

Well, Sony is moving for exclusivity with PS, so, quid pro quo?

I think you're overreacting a little. Let the Xbox players have their treat.
Besides, this is the exact same release strategy they did with Octopath and I'm sure Bravely will come to PlayStation in due time.

My guess it's either it was a short term deal with Microsoft or for whatever reason it's easier to port games there first. Octopath Traveller 1 went to Xbox first (after Switch), and then Playstation like a year later. Octopath Traveller 2 was available on Playstation before Octopath Traveller 1, for whatever reason. Lol
I don't think it makes sense outside of a deal or ease of porting. Xbox isn't known for having a large JRPG fan base. I will admit, I was a bit annoyed too since they the multiplatform strategy they mentioned seems to be affecting Playstation positively last, but it will come eventually.

I feel like there's not a lot of D to H in porting a 3DS game to a bigger screen.

Gotta give Square credit, they knew they might as well release this remaster on other systems.

So it really is just a matter of cooking up a PC port and then finding good baseline graphics settings for running on Xbox hardware (which itself is kind of mid), as opposed to developing for PlayStation which requires console-specific effort (though PS4 to PS5 is fairly straightforward compared to the PS3 days).
Probably more information than you wanted, but there is indeed a "whatever reason."

Well I don't particularly care about it getting released on Xbox but I do love the Bravely games in general so I'm happy for anything that gets more eyes on it (especially since that'll hopefully lead to more games in the series).
