Dandelion (ONA)

Source: Manga (completed @ 1 volume by Hideaki Sorachi)

Demographic:

Animation Studio: NAZ

Genres: comedy

Themes: afterlife, angels

Plot Summary: Set within the Send-Off Department of the Japanese Angel Federation, Dandelion follows "Angels" Tetsuo Tanba and Misaki Kurogane as they scramble to track down Earthbound spirits—souls unable to move on and find peace—and gently guide them to pass on.

The angels find themselves struggling to meet their daily tasks. However, Tetsuo Tanba and his leader, Misaki Kurogane, who make up the 21st Division's Dandelion Clan, chose to take things at their own pace: instead of rushing through cases, they take time with each spirit, listening to their regrets and helping them resolve what's holding them back.

One day, they encounter the Earthbound spirit of an elderly man who is running at full speed, trying desperately to escape.

The trailer didn't quite look what I expected from the plot summary, but it still looks like it could be a lot of fun. I'm allowing myself to have high hopes for this one.

Yeah, this looks like fun and I'd be willing to bet there will be some feels.

Little too frantic and loud for my delicate tastes, but I liked it. Specifically, I loved the concept of angels in black. I enjoyed the way they had a guy who would normally be the hero angel in a straight up action anime be a comic foil here. I liked the enigma surrounding the female angel who seems like she might be the baddest ass around under her whimsical front. And I liked the story about the old couple.

Still a little rushed, but I'm sticking with it. Netflix has provided all 7 episodes, but I'm watching one per week through sheer willpower.
