The Commercial: Basically, this Mother is taking her kids to School, and on the way they stop off at a drive-through which is really their house, her Husband (I guess) hands her a plate of Hot Pockets out of the kitchen window and the narrator comes on and does the whole HP-Schpleal.
The narrator of this commercial sounds a lot like Kirby Morrow, so much so that when I first heard it I thought Miroku was going to pop out of the bushes and do his whole "WIND-TUNNEL!" thing to suck up the Hot Pockets, protecting the family from the Saimyosho that were hidden inside. Does anyone know if it is him? |

Huh...I know the ad you're talking about, but I don't know Morrow enough to guess for sure. Next time I see the ad I'll try to find a picture and compare it...
While we're on the subject...you reminded me of another anime VA that might be on a commerscial. ^^; Has anyone seen one of the new McDonald's 'snack time' ads with a slightly-nerdy office worker trying to dig his way out with a spoon? I could SWEAR the spoon guy is Spike Spencer (Shinji), but I haven't been able to find out if anyone else has recongized him, so I don't know if I'm going crazy or what's going on... |

I wouldn't be surprised if it was him. Voice actors do other things than anime, ya' know? Like how I keep hearing Steve Blum do 7 Eleven commercials. Gotta' make ends meet somehow, I suppose.

Yes, don't be surprised by an actor's versatility (aka wanting to make more money)
The lead actor of a short film I wrote/directed a couple years ago is an accomplished voice over artist, specializing in commercials. You've probably heard his voice on the radio all over the country. I also saw him in a large coffee house commercial last year. So if you have to ear to point out Kirby, then it just may be him. |

Oh yeah, I know. I kind of imagine acting as being a lot like writing where sometimes you may have to take random jobs to make a decent salary, so I wouldn't be completely surprised if it was them. More just amused that I know who they are, as well as pleased that they're getting hired. (Of course, it'd be nicer for them if it was some sort of TV show or movie, I'm sure.) |

Blasphemy! I know, but if that is him it's the first time I've heard a VA in a commercial. It's like those 7 Eleven ads you're talking about, I've yet to see 'em, so to hear a voice that I hear nightly on AS in a commercial is a bit of a shock, and also awsome! I wouldn't be surprised either; considering I've heard VA voices in plenty of ads or other such things. Such as:
The "EA Sports...It's in the game" thing is David "Solid Snake" Hayter I think Steve Blum is also the GIECO guy who says "A 15 minute call could save you..." and the voice of TOM on Toonami Spike Spencer has done several ads, check his website to see some. James Earl Jones provided the "This is CNN" station ID |

If I remember correctly Kari Wahlgren was in a movie called Neverland back in 2003. I'm not sure if the movie had a theatrical release or if it was direct to video.

Heey, you're right! Here's the IMDB for it She played Tink.
According to one of the reviewers on IMDB, she was the only actor he was really impressed with in the movie. |

It was an indie film. I'm actually glad to you reminded me of it; I've been meaning to track it down ever since I saw the trailer on YouTube awhile ago. It looks like something I'd like, even though reviews have been less than favorable on the whole. Wahlgren's at the very beginning of the trailer with a few lines, and silently in several shots later. |

Steve Blum is definitely NOT the Geico guy. They have completely different voices. He is TOM, though. The original TOM (the short one) was played by Sonny Strait, best known for playing Krillin and Hughes in DBZ and FMA. |

Yes he is; look at his resume under commercials. |

I don't know, after listening to a few Geico commercials on YouTube, I don't think he is the guy. His resume could be referring to a radio commercial, or something like that.
As for the Spike Spencer ads, those were cool. I'd never guess it was him if I ever saw any of 'em. |
