I'm not sure how long this promotion is for, but the people at the store told me it'll last 1 week. I suspect it'll end on 12/1. And... probably in-store only.
Buy 2 anime dvds, get a $10 gift card.
I'm not sure what limitations there are for it. I bought two new dvds, so I'm not sure if used dvds will count. I bought Fate/Stay Night 5 & 6 with clock. I also used the Backstage Pass, so I'm not sure if that's a requirement but I don't think it is.
I'm likely to go back there and pick up more Geneon/Pioneer DVDs that are no longer available through online stores!
(edit: oh, as for the same promotion going on at Suncoast? I'm not sure >.< sorry... lots of things I'm not sure about.)

I saw that, but that's not really such a great deal. It's not enough to trigger me buying anything. I recently ordered $100+ of stuff at the deepdiscount.com sale....normally I buy the majority of my anime from Suncoast/Sam Goody but their Black Friday/holiday sales haven't impressed me, or are coming too late, so they lost my business.
The old Geneon 50% off deals were better, and quite common. I was hoping for 50% off deals again this Christmas...there have been 50% off deals at Suncoast at Christmas for the past 2 or 3 years straight. Last Christmas there were even a few Geneon 75%~80% off deals (buy 1 get 1 free piled upon an already 50% discounted price). Unfortunately I never bought any titles at that price, I went home to tell my friend and we came back the next day but everything we wanted was instantly gone. But so far it looks like this Christmas they are doing nothing, so I hope they don't sell anything.
BTW, did you see those Haruhi records at Sam Goody? There were a ton of them on the ground a few weeks ago and I was really tempted to steal one lol. They were rubber banded next to the Haruhi regular edition DVDs and supposedly can be purchased together (which doesn't make sense, as anyone who would want the record probably buys the special edition) for $10+ more.
But now all those records are gone, and those "expensive" regular edition Haruhis are scattered throughout the store all disorganized, without their records. I wonder if everyone else stole them instead of me. ; I should have stolen one too but I generally don't steal stuff. The only thing I ever stole was one Toon Dark Magician Girl from a Shonen Jump in Borders.
Sam Goody also has those free Funimation sampler DVDs all over the ground now so you can steal those. I already got one earlier though when I bought something random.

It wasn't such a bad deal IMHO. I'm only using it to get those hard to find dvds, or special dvds that come with extras which are difficult to determine online. Sam Goody and Suncoast seem to be the last place I look to get something if it's difficult to find because they usually have a large amount of dvds still in stock.
So, for easy to find dvds? No, I suggest not going there, but if you're like me and trying to pick up on difficult to find DVDs, I'd use them. I did love that Geneon 50% sale. I am hoping for another huge sale like that again, but sometimes waiting too long can make you miss out on what you wanted. Sometimes want out-weighs price to me.

Hmm, the price of the RE Haruhi with Record is only $25 right now on sale at Suncoast...that's only $2 more than the current sale price of the RE Haruhi Vol 4 DVD. So the record is pretty cheap....at least until the sales go away (at which point it will be effectively "worth" $10).
At Sam Goody though the price might be $40 like the retail price sticker says. Because when I scan it into the computer I don't get anything...
