This is one of the funniest mangas i've ever read. Are they making an anime about this?

They've picked 33 seiyuus for the radio drama, but no official plan for anime yet. However, on the official site there's a link for XEBEC, the animation production company of two previous works from Ken Akamatsu, Love Hina series and Mao-chan, so it's suspicious.... Cool

Man, 31 girls - the largest harem I've ever known. Embarassed

It's juat a matter of time as to when the anime will be made. There's 6 volumes right now with the 7th volume soon to be release and the 8th volume to be release in november (which is what I read from Ken Akamatsu Diary website) . 8 manga volumes is the magic number because it's enough material for a 26 episode series although it the anime will contain some filler episodes. Confused

Which is why I'm hoping it doesn't get adapter into anime till there's 10 volumes out so that they won't screw up like they did with Love Hina it had too many filler episodes and a not so good ending. Sad As an educated guess I would say the anime will start production early next year. By then 10 volumes of the manga would be out. Very Happy

Negima is cool and funny. I love the manga. I can't wait for the next volume. I really wish that in the future there is an Negima anime. (crossing fingers) Anime smallmouth

What's really surprising about the manga is that is a bestseller in the US despite the entire shotacon thing.

As much as I am not a fan Akamatsu's work, don't you think that it's a bit counterproductive to make it a radio play? (Even though I would probably listen to it because I think radio plays are cool, no matter what the topic.)

We can only hope it isn't because of the shotacon thing.

Shotacon in an Akamatsu work? Odd...

By the way, in case you're confused, shotacon is exploiting underage males. Exploiting underage females (what I think you meant...since...much much greater chance of that in an Akamatsu series) is lolicon.

Er, actually he really does mean shotacon. The main character is something like a ten-year old boy in a class full of high school girls.

I think the entire "older-girl-younger-guy" relationship could work better if Negi was 14 and the girls are all 18. It'll still be weird but Negi will look older. Anime teens usually look older than the age they're supposed to be.

See, all ya need to do is just go back and watch Love Hina. Imagine Naru younger, Keitaro as a wizard, and put the girls in a school dormitory rather than a hotsprings apartment complex, and *poof* Negima.

One question though about the romances there, I never really got why Ayaka was in love with Negi.

You forgot multiply number of girls by 6.

spoiler[It's more like brother-sister relationship. She wanted a younger brother for a long time, but her younger brother (then fetus) died because of stillborn; the doctor chose to save her mother.

Asuna always laughs at Ayaka for her "shotakon" behavior, but the only day she stops laughing is the (supposed) birthday of Ayaka's brother.]

That's what I thought too after reading volume 2 but volume 5 show it's no bro.-sis. relationship.

spoiler[They had that trip to Kyoto and Asakura makes that "kiss negi contest" just so she could get more of those contract cards. Both Ayaka and Makie (who seems to start showing feelings for Makie) were the most excited about it. When Ayaka finally found Negi (one of the clones Negi made), she was so excited about it that she even set up a camera to videotape the entire thing. She, then tried to kiss the fake negi but he runs away. Ayaka chased him but the fake exploded as soon as she caught up with him. Nodoka wins the contest, and both Makie and Ayaka called her their love rival or something like that. ]
