I really like my ragnarok Boxset. I havn't bought any more ragnarok in hopes that they release more boxset or jsut the volume and a box. I also own the Cowboy Bebop Boxset. I really wish Tokyopop, Viz, Darkhorse or any other manga company to start releasing more boxset just like thier anime counterpart. Maybe the first volume and the box. It will certainlly encourage people to buy the rest of the series to fill in the box. I would really like to see a box for One Piece, Naruto, Samurai Kyo Deeper. So far I have heard nothing about any new box being released. Is the "box" idea dead?

The only box I have is for Nausicaa (original edition), and that was just because it was cheaper than buying the individual volumes at the time I bought it. I really could care less about boxsets for manga. As for the mangas you mentioned, those are all quite long, so a box would be impractical anyways.
Oh, and nice Magatsu pic.

I think TP just released the first 4 volumes of Peach Girl in a box set. They've also been releasing the re-releases of CCS and MKR in boxsets.
As far as the Ragnarok boxset goes, I have no clue if they'll release another boxset with vols. 4-6 or something. Since the author stopped at volume 10 (for now) I don't see what good releasing a boxset to hold an incomplete series would do.

Well in most cases I am all for it - I have the Chobits special edition box, and it looks very good on my bookshelf (and its a good bookend). For some of the longer series I hope that they do release the boxes more often, they tend to keep the manga in better condition.

Just pointing this out, but in Japan's case they usually release the manga boxsets after the series is over. I've been trying to get my hands on the Japanese Angel Sanctuary boxset, but so far have had no luck.
I like the boxset idea, but it doesn't really help me when I'm buying the manga as soon as it comes out unless they sell the box by itself, or like mentioned before, release a box with the first volume. I can see the releasing a box with the first volume perhaps, but it would have to be on a series they've licensed that's already over in Japan so they could know how big to make it.
Tokyopop seems to have been giving mainly only their CLAMP releases boxsets, but I'm hoping for a Sailormoon one. It, like CCS and Rayearth were, is in need of being flipped and completely redone.

I just hope they release the re-releases of the Sailor Moon manga. After I hear news of that, then I'll cross my fingers for a box set.

The TP Chobits box is gorgeous, not to mention the Chii figure that comes with it. I've seen the CCS and MKR boxes in stores and they look tempting too, except that blowing $30 on manga in one go tends to scare me.
(Hint to Viz and everyone else: Manga boxsets are a REALLY GOOD IDEA.)

That's not a bad idea. Didn't TP do this for Chobit here where the box came with the last volume?

Yep, they gave you Vol. 8 plus a figurine.

The idea of a Sailor Moon re-release was raised at the Tokyopop panel at Otakon.
Basically, while it would sell big time, like everything Sailor Moon, the manga is in liscencing hell right now, so don't expect anything in the near future.

The only boxset I have is the Ragnarok series. But it would be neat to have more boxsets. And a Sailor Moon re-release would be neat.
