Anyone know a good site I can order a cat ears hat? Something similar to what Piro from Megatokyo (http://www.megatokyo.com) wears at work or what Manda from Life of Riley (http://clanbob.net) wears but without LAIN written across it. Everything I have found available on the net is either terribly crafted, has tiny realistic cat ears, or is part of a costume of Digicharat and has huge bells at the side.
I just want the ears. Big cartoony cute neko ears. I'm baffled that Google turned up such lame results. I'd think this would be such a marketable item... Like jesters caps and swords... Thanks in advance. |

Neither of those links have pictures of the hat. And I don't read other of those comics so I'm not inclined to go through the entire archive looking for a picture of it. If you could post an example, I may be able to help you.

Here's a few cat hats that may or may not be what you are looking for:

Sorry...
This strip has Piro getting a cool looking one placed on his head at work in the last 2 panels. http://www.megatokyo.com/index.php?strip_id=339 And this strip has a good view of Manda and her LAIN cap in the first panel. http://www.clanbob.net/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=294 What I like especially about these are the big open ears with the lighter colored inside part or the ear visible. |

You'd probably have to either go to a costumer to have it made or make it yourself....I don't think I've ever seen hats like that sold....
Here's one place that will custom make it for you.... http://www.geocities.com/capscorp2000/ |

If you make a regular winter cap (i'm not quite sure what they're called, but patterns for'em would be easy to find in a fabric store) you could then affix cat-ears to it.
The worst part about making it would be the cap, I think, rather than attaching the ears, since the cat ears are just ~90 degree triangles, with 4-5" legs... If you want the ears to stick out more or less, you can make the ears wider or narrower. |

They were selling those at almost every booth at Expo last year. They were for some series or another, but they didn't have the series logo anywhere on the cap. I believe they were a dark maroon in color.
You may want to email a few vendors. -Zac |

These are expensive ($40!) but I'll keep looking for others, sounds like what you want.

Here, something like this. But this is a part of a Digicharat costume and has the big bells at the side I mentioned I didn't care for. And its doesn't seem to be crafted so skillfully... I don't mind the eyes tho (without the eyes would be nice). A bit bigger would be cool too, something that covers my whole scalp to the ears (but not below).
http://www.fortunecity.com/business/johns/1394/costume/miscvariouscostumes/misccos2/digikocap.jpg Yeah, picky picky picky eh... Guess I have to get it made or something. Only thought they may be readily available since I saw two great examples in popular webcomics. |

Anime Gamers (formerly Omocha Box) used to have that, but I think they're out of stock since I haven't seen it on their website in a long time. Most people I know just make them...
