Wait, isn't "Canceled due to various circumstances" the wording usually used when something terribly bad regarding reputation of the people involved happend?

It's just standard phrasing for "legal/PR advised us not to say anything, just in case." I've seen it with all sorts of delays or cancellations for a lot of different possible reasons.

Possibly. It at least wouldn't be the first time for Konami. Interestingly enough though, MGS Delta did use the same Metal Gear Main Theme in its ending credits that ran into this problem. It makes me wonder if Konami didn't resolve that by just paying to be able to use it.

Maybe, but we're going to have to wait until we find out what happened to what lead up to the cancellation. I hope ANN can get the 1st reporting on this.

That's a bit of a bummer that the soundtrack releases got cancelled, though I suppose we'll find out what the 'various circumstances' are when things are fully worked out behind closed doors and they're finally allowed to make a public statement after it's all said and done.

If it's a copyright reason I imagine they'd have patched the game to remove any of the offending tracks.
