Louis making that joke "do you want this, this or me?" caught me out of nowhere. At first I thought it was the guy trying to think a joke to fit Legosi's younger personality but then I wondered more and more. The scene where Legosi says he is afraid also helped to showed that strong relationship the two developed at the end of season 2. Then again, they wouldn't be the first homosexual characters in this series. Still, Haru appearing with Legosi helped there was little since season 1's ending.
Gotta say I was also surprised by how ridiculously amazing was Legosi and Lemon's relationship. At first the latter just tried to put all of his fear in the former but the two suddenly started a quiz and almost had fun. Then Lemon saves Legosi's life in the middle of the quiz. The last two episodes felt like I was watching Rambo due to the amount of heavy violence. I had no idea how Legosi was gonna survive considering he took lots of wounds. While it might seem a bit rushed, I was glad with the final product especially thanks to the postcredit scene. The first cour of the final season did well at saying the danger a child born from different species can have and Legosi and Haru's future child could be another of them.

I didn’t read the manga but when it came out I remember similar complaints of it being rushed and leaving some plots open-ended. So it’s an issue with the source material.

I have really mixed feelings about this batch of episodes. They removed a lot of stuff; some of the scenes being snipped did help streamline things, but there were other scenes that I dearly missed, and hurt supporting characters.

What i'm curious about is the replacement of Melon's English VA. I know Darren Criss was his first voice. Any info on why this changed?

Overall a good conclusion to an already great series, they could have easily done a ~40 minute final episode. Having an additional episode for the final few chapters so they we at least got to see more of the supporting cast, would have been nice.

I actually see Haru usually cited as one of the best parts of the series and her lack of role in the later half of the series to its detriment.
But also a common complaint about the final season (and the manga's ending) that I've seen was it's rushed nature.

No really solid info out there, but the gap between releases, alongside the English dub studio change (Iyuno USA to VSI Los Angeles) it's enough to assume there was a scheduling conflict of some kind. Darren Criss seems very in demand in Western productions especially, but it's good that they actually went back and had Scott Whyte redub his work so people who pick up the show now have a smooth and consistent experience.

Why is this just a review of the dub and not the real show

I feel the opposite of this review in that while I enjoyed the final season and the show, I felt like Melon was the weakest part because he was so over the top and cartoony that it felt like he was clashing with the rest of the interpersonal drama and sociopolitical commentary and I felt like the way the show resolved his arc was too anticlimatic. I felt like most of the other subplots were more interesting especially Louis' arc that I was really engaged with. Also there were a lot of moments it seemed like characters made silly choices that were made just for the sake of extending the drama. I did enjoy Legoshi and Haru's romance and I felt satisfied with how it was wrapped up and I thought Jack's story was very sad and I'm glad Legoshi could be there for his friend in a difficult time.
I also wish we got to see more of Bill and the drama club and I was surprised how Bill turned out and ended up being a character I really liked. My biggest disappointment is I think Juno deserved better from the final scene and her arc as she also ended up being another surprise favorite of mine but I was disappointed how her arc just cut off. I'm still interested in checking out the manga and Paru Itagaki's other works and I need to catch up on Sanda. I also was impressed by the dub and I also wish we got to see Lara Jill Miller in more mature anime. Overall it was still a fantastic show I had a good time with and I'm glad I watched.
