The retraction was likely less "it was fake" and more "the 19 year-old girl can't afford her abuser suing her emotionally and financially into the ground".

it's totally wrong..ruin someone's career and life by 1 simple without evidence post...and that damn studio removed them without verify anything? I think something is wrong...they wanted to kick them out so made an excuse on public? or something else? cause right now BUTA PRODUCTION can case on them legally on both parties...but if they dont then it means something very wrong in both sides..

I could point out the evidence of the message logs in her initial accusation that remain damning, but I feel we are not going to have a discussion of nuance, are we? Have a nice day.

Look, evidence was published online. The retraction does not erase the evidence. Are we clear about this?

What she said, and which is similar to the official statement from Buta Productions (presumably written by FAR himself, but we don't know that for a fact,) is that she "involuntarily embellished details of her narration," and "added totally incorrect information." As far as I can tell, that narration she's talking about wasn't the logs themselves, it was the Tweets explaining them. No one on either side has actually said that the logs themselves are faked, just that the accusations were "partial and misleading" - in other words, the official stance of the guy accused is that the evidence was taken out of context, not that it's not real. It is therefore up to anyone who reads the evidence to decide whether or not there's ANY context that could make what was said better... and for a lot of people, there isn't.
Additionally, per what someone in the first thread said about Italian defamation law, even if these accusations were proven to be true in court, she could still be sued for the damage done to his reputation for saying it. Even though it was true. When you consider most lawyers are too expensive for a 19-year-old to hire for what could be a very long lawsuit, it's not surprising she retracted (in a way that makes it sound a lot like she WAS threatened with a lawsuit and realized she couldn't defend herself, and in a way where she ALSO does not say that the evidence itself was faked.)
I don't actually expect this to change your mind, but I felt it was worth saying: There is no one on either side saying the evidence itself is fake, only that the story Maryco was telling was "misleading" and "embellished". Neither of those actually means "completely untrue," and neither of those is actually about the evidence itself. And there are very good reasons for someone with true evidence of being abused to retract if they can't afford a lawyer, or even if they can because they don't think they can win a defamation suit in Italy.
