High School Debut star replaces Shun Oguri in 3rd live-action special; Beck's Kutsuna plays Ran

21-year-old actor Junpei Mizobata will play the title role in the third live-action Detective Conan television special this April. Mizobata has starred in the live-action adaptations of Hana-Kimi, 81diver, Shibatora, and later this year, High School Debut.

18-year-old actress Shiori Kutsuna will play Conan's constant companion Ran Mori. She also appeared in the live-action adaptations of Mei-chan no Shitsuji, Beck, and Gota Keshi: Jidan Kōshōnin Shirai Torajirō.

The new special is part of the 15th anniversary celebration of the television anime series and the related films. Shun Oguri (Hana Yori Dango, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shamballa, Hana-Kimi) starred in the first live-action Detective Conan television special in 2006 as part of the anime's 10th anniversary. He reprised the role in a second special the following year.
