Famitsu Launches English Survey to See What Fans Think of Japanese Games

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

Gzbrain Inc.'s Weekly Famitsu magazine is looking for input from overseas fans on what they like about Japanese video games in a new English survey.

The survey asks for the taker's nickname, age, gender, and region. The survey then asks players to list their three favorite Japanese games, and give reasons for each one.

Takers are then asked several questions about six recent Japanese games in particular: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Monster Hunter: World, NieR:Automata, Nioh, Persona 5, and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The survey asks about what aspects players liked about each game (e.g.: music, story, characters, gameplay), favorite character, favorite scene, most-used weapon, best boss, and best ending, along with other questions.

As the survey is focused on what overseas fans like about Japanese games, there are no questions or areas where fans can write critiques of the games or where the games could have been improved.

Gzbrain Inc. plans to use some of the responses in its Weekly Famitsu magazine (although comments may be edited). Those interested can submit answers by March 16 at 23:59 PDT.
