Collaborations with anime, video games, and celebrities have transformed Sanrio's Hello Kitty into a mecha-fighter, profanity-spouting DJ, 8-Bit video game adventurer, and more. Hello Kitty has an appeal that lets her be anything she wants to be, even if its just enjoying a gentle tea party within the world of manga creator Chica Umino.
The March comes in like a lion and Honey and Clover creator is collaborating with Sanrio to create a variety of household goods featuring her illustrations. The merchandise will go on sale on April 5 at AEON retail stores. About 25 different items will be for sale including body soap, laundry detergent, and moisturizing cream.
