A Kuroko's Basketball dōjinshi event at Tokyo Big Sight received a threat letter, one in a series of such letters sent to locales linked to manga author Tadatoshi Fujimaki.
The letter was received on October 13. It stated, "Tadatoshi Fujimaki is despicable. If the Kuroko's Basketball event is not cancelled, I will disperse drugs [there]." Like most of the other threat letters, this one also contained a powdered substance.
The staff of the "Shadow Trickster 3" event increased security on Sunday, but otherwise the event was carried out peacefully.
The alma mater of Fujimaki and other locations linked to the author were sent threat letters with an unknown powder and other substances earlier this month. According to the police, the Toyama High School in Tokyo's Shibuya ward received a threat letter with powder on October 16. Sophia University received a hydrogen sulfide-like liquid and a letter on October 12.
In addition, a publishing production firm in Tokyo's Suginami ward received powdered barium and a threat letter on October 13. Certain barium compounds and hydrogen sulfide are poisonous.
