Live-Action Corpse Party: Book of Shadows Film's Trailer Reveals Theme Song, July Premiere

Asami Imai sings "Sabaku no Ame" theme song for July 30 film

The official website for the live-action films of 5pb.'s Corpse Party horror game franchise began streaming a trailer on Friday for the second film, Corpse Party: Book of Shadows. The trailer reveals and previews the film's theme song "Sabaku no Ame" by Asami Imai, and also reveals the film's July 30 opening date.

The site also unveiled a new poster visual.

The film will stream in Nico Nico Net Cinema at the same time it opens in Japanese theaters.

Shooting for the film began last April. As with the previous film, the shoot was livestreamed through Nico Nico Video. Nogizaka46 member and former AKB48 member Rina Ikoma and Nozomi Maeda will reprise their roles from the original film. Tsunenori Aoki and Nogizaka46 sister group Keyakizaka46 member Nijika Ishimori also star in the film.

The first film opened in Japanese theaters last August, alongside a simultaneous live stream on Nico Nico Live. A new "Unlimited Edition" of the film, which featured explicit sequences cut from the original theatrical release, opened in Japan last September.

XSEED Games released the PSP version of the original Corpse Party game in North America and Europe, as well as the follow-up game Corpse Party: Book of Shadows. 5pb. released an iOS port with XSEED's English translation in 2014. XSEED Games is releasing the original Corpse Party game's 3DS version on August 30, and released the PC version on April 25.

Team GrisGris and 5pb. released the third and final chapter in the Heavenly Host Elementary School saga, titled Corpse Party: Blood Drive, in Japan in 2014. The game shipped in North America and Europe last October.
