Erased and Soul Eater Not! Released Monday

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Also Tenchi Muyo! OAV series

On Monday August 7, Anime Limited will release the first volume of ERASED as a standard DVD and a Collector's Blu-ray/DVD combi pack. Both editions carry the first six episodes of the series. The Collector's Edition includes a 92-page book.

The story of Kei Sanbe's original manga follows Satoru, a struggling manga artist who has an ability that forces him back in time to prevent deaths. When his mother is killed he's sent back in time to solve the mystery, but ends up back in elementary school, just before the disappearance of his classmate Kayo.

Tomohiko Ito (Sword Art Online, Silver Spoon) is directing the series and Taku Kishimoto (Silver Spoon, Haikyu!!) is handling series composition at A-1 Pictures. Keigo Sasaki (The Seven Deadly Sins, Blue Exorcist) is designing the characters for the anime and Yuki Kajiura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Sword Art Online) is composing the music.

The band Asian Kung-Fu Generation performs the opening theme song.

Kei Sanbe began the original manga in 2012 and it is currently serialized in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine. The manga was nominated for the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize 'Reader Award' in 2014 and this year's Manga Taisho Awards.

Manga Entertainment will release Soul Eater Not! on Blu-ray. Funimation, which released the series in America, has described the story:

Get ready to meet the newest class at Death Weapon Meister Academy! Tsugumi Harudori and her outrageous friends make up the NOT class at this stylish school dedicated to training living, breathing weapons and uniting them with the Meisters who'll wield them! Soul Eater fanatics will be psyched to meet these epic new characters – and catch up with all their favorites from the original series.

Atsushi Ohkubo launched the Soul Eater Not! manga in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in 2011 as a spinoff of his original Soul Eater manga. He ended Soul Eater Not! in its fifth volume, which Square Enix published on December 22.

MVM will release Tenchi Muyo! as a Blu-ray/DVD combi pack. It contains the 13 OVA episodes made between 1992 and 1995.
