The official website for the television anime adaptation of Honda's Gaikotsu Shotenin Honda-san (Skeleton Bookstore Employee Honda) manga began streaming the anime's first promotional video on Thursday. The video reveals the show's staff, and also reveals that Sōma Saitō will play the titular character Honda.
The site also revealed a new visual.
Owl Todoroki is directing the series at DLE, and Shin Okashima is writing and overseeing the series scripts. Naoko Kakiki is the character designer, Yuichi Imaizumi is the sound director at Half HP Studio, and Technoboys Pulcraft Green-Fund is composing the music at Lantis.
The anime will premiere this fall.
The comedy manga's story centers on a skeleton named Honda who works in a bookstore. Hilarity ensues daily in his work at the shop's manga counter.
Honda launched the manga on the Pixiv Comic website in August 2015. Kadokawa brand company Media Factory published the third compiled book volume last September.
The manga ranked at #12 on the list of top manga series for female readers in Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook in 2016. The manga also ranked at #12 in Japanese online bookstore Honya Club's "Zenkoku Shotenin ga Eranda Osusume Comic 2017" (Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics of 2017) poll last year. In addition, the series was nominated in Pixiv Comic and Nippon Shuppan Hanbai, Inc's "Web Manga Sōsenkyo" (Web Manga General Election) poll in July.
