Console launches alongside Copper DualShock 4 controller on November 21

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced on Thursday that it will release a PlayStation 4 Pro Jet Black 2TB console and a DualShock 4 controller in the color Copper on November 21. The console will cost 44,980 yen (about US$399), and the controller will cost 6,480 yen (US$58).

A PS4 model with two terabytes of storage was previously shipped as a limited edition, but the new two-terabyte version will be a standard model. The new Copper controller is adding to the lineup of metallic-colored DualShock 4 controllers. Similar Gold and Silver controllers debuted in Japan in December 2016, and they will get a new release along with the release of the Copper controller.

The Copper version of the DualShock 4 debuted in the United States in September, along with the new Berry Blue, Sunset Orange, and Blue Camo colors.

Sony Interactive Entertainment dropped the price of the PS4 console in Japan on October 12. Both the Jet Black- and Glacier White-color consoles dropped from 44,980 yen (about US$394) to 39,980 yen (US$351). The limited-edition Kingdom Hearts III PS4 Pro console dropped from 53,780 yen (US$472) to 48,780 yen (US$428).

The PlayStation 4 Pro console debuted in November 2016 for US$399. It features upgraded CPU, boosted clock rate, and a one terabyte hard drive. The system also has ultra-high-definition 4K and HDR support.
