Crunchyroll Streams Radiant Season 2, Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun, Kizuna Ai Concert

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Radiant's 2nd season premieres on October 2, Iruma-kun on October 5

Crunchyroll announced during its panel at its own Crunchyroll Expo on Sunday that it will stream the second season of the Radiant television anime, Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun (the television anime of Osamu Nishi's Mairimashita! Iruma-kun manga), and the Kizuna Ai 1st Live "hello, world" concert.

The second season of Radiant will premiere on NHK Educational on October 2 at 7:25 p.m. Like the first series, the second series will have 21 episodes.

The first television anime series of Tony Valente's French comic Radiant premiered in Japan in October 2018, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired. Funimation streamed the series with an English dub.

Viz Media licensed the comic, and it describes the story:

Seth is an aspiring wizard living in a pastoral village under the watchful eye of his mentor. Like all wizards, he is an “infected”—one of the few people that has survived contact with a Nemesis, creatures that fall from the sky and contaminate all they touch. His encounter gave him powers and led him to choose a path that seemed to be perfect—to become someone who hunts and fights the Nemesis. But Seth longs for a quest that goes beyond the simple hunt for monsters. He wants to find the place they come from, Radiant, and destroy it. Along with other wizards, he travels the world in search of Radiant, under the sinister eye of the Inquisition…

The second season features a returning staff. Seiji Kishi (Angel Beats!, Persona 4 The Animation, Yuki Yuna Is a Hero) is directing the anime at Lerche, while Daisei Fukuoka (Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School: Future Arc, Yuki Yuna is A Hero Season 2) is credited as series director. Makoto Uezu (Humanity Has Declined, Yuki Yuna Is a Hero, Scum's Wish) is in charge of the series scripts. Nozomi Kawano is the character designer, and Masato Kōda (KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!!, Arpeggio of Blue Steel - Ars Nova) is composing the music.

Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun will premiere on October 5 at 5:35 p.m. on NHK Educational, and it will have 23 episodes.

The story of Mairimashita! Iruma-kun follows Iruma, a kind-hearted 14-year-old boy whose parents sell him to demons for their own selfish interests. However, the demon he is sold to has no grandson of his own, so he dotes on Iruma and sends him to demon school.

Makoto Moriwaki (Onegai My Melody - Kuru Kuru Shuffle!, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes Dai-Ni-Maku, PriPara) is directing the anime at Bandai Namco Pictures, and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Princess Resurrection, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, Girls' Last Tour) is in charge of series composition. Akimitsu Honma (RIN-NE, Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku) is composing the music. NHK and NHK Enterprises are credited for production.

Nishi launched the manga in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in March 2017, and Akita Shoten published the 11th compiled volume on June 7. Akita Shoten will publish the 12th volume on September 6.

Crunchyroll describes the Virtual Youtuber Kizuna Ai:

Kizuna Ai is known as the world's first and most popular Virtual Youtuber, and now she headlines her first concert: a two-day event titled "hello, world." Held during December 2018 in Tokyo and Osaka, it was put together by AI and the producers behind the nine singles she had released over nine consecutive weeks. With over 37,000 passionate fans in attendance, this concert is considered "the beginning of a new legend." A truly stunning and unique experience you cannot miss!
