Phoenix Gramedia Licenses 7 Manga, 1 Novel Title for Indonesia

Kadokawa and Gramedia's Phoenix Gramedia company announced last week that it has licensed eight titles, including seven manga and one novel title. The licensed titles include Seihantaina Kimi to Boku, Phantom Busters, Medalist, Witch Watch, Kinki Chihō no Aru Basho ni Tsuite (both novel and manga adaptation), Jigokuraku, and Nue no Onmyōji.

MANGA Plus published the Seihantaina Kimi to Boku series in English with the title You and I Are Polar Opposites, and it describes the story:

Suzuki, an energetic girl who can't help but follow the crowd, finds herself drawn to Tani, a quiet boy who can easily speak his mind. Enter: the serialization of a hit one-shot! A story for anyone who wants to enjoy love! This down-to-earth, relatable rom-com is ready to pull at your heartstrings!

Agasawa Tea launched the manga on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ platform in May 2022. The manga originally launched as a one-shot on the website in January 2021. The manga ended in November 2024. Shueisha shipped the eighth and final compiled book volume on March 4.

The manga ranked #3 in the 16th Manga Taisho Awards in 2023, and #7 in the 17th Manga Taisho Awards in 2024.

The manga is inspiring an upcoming television anime that will premiere in January 2026.

Viz Media also licensed Neoshoko's Phantom Busters manga for North America, and it describes the story:
Eugene doesn't believe in ghosts, but his classmate Mogari is an exorcist who chomps on them whole! Can they get their anxious classmate Kotaro, who can talk to ghosts, to join their Phantom Busters club?

The manga launched in Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine in August 2023. Shueisha released the manga's fifth volume on June 9.

Kodansha USA Publishing licensed Tsurumaikada's Medalist manga for North America, and it describes the story:
Tsukasa, whose dreams were crushed. Inori, left to fend for herself. These two share a dream...and their tenacity may be the only thing that sees them through. Their destination? The ice...on the world's stage!

Tsurumaikada launched the manga in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine in May 2020. Kodansha published the 13th compiled book volume on June 23.

The manga won in the Best General Manga category of the 68th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2023. The manga won Best General Manga at Kodansha's 48th annual Manga Awards in May 2024.

The manga inspired a television anime that premiered in Japan on January 4. Disney+ streamed the anime. The anime will have a second season that will premiere in January 2026.

MANGA Plus publishes Kenta Shinohara's Witch Watch manga digitally, and it describes the story:
Morihito, a boy with the strength of an ogre, is about to start living together with his childhood friend Niko, who is training to be a witch. NIko's magic leads to all sorts of unpredictable trouble, and with two teens under one roof... Let the fantastical antics begin! Magical comedy series by Kenta Shinohara creator of SKET DANCE and Astra Lost in Space.

Shinohara launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2021. Shueisha published the manga's 23rd volume on September 4.

The manga is inspiring a television anime that premiered on June 29, and is currently airing.

Sesuji's Kinki Chihō no Aru Basho ni Tsuite (About a Place in the Kinki Region) novel portrays horror and ghost stories in the Kansai region, also known as the Kinki (near the capital) region. Sesuji presents the novel as a real collection of stories extracted from magazine articles, folk tales, reader submissions to magazines, and Internet "creepypasta" posts, with a framing device of the document's writer using the stories to search for a missing horror magazine editor named Ozawa.

Sesuji serialized the original story on the Kakuyomu website in January 2023. Kadokawa compiled and published the stories in a print novel in August 2023. Kadokawa released a new bunkoban version of the novel on July 25.

Tsukasa Usui launched the manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine in November 2023. Kadokawa published the manga's second volume on July 26.

Yūji Kaku's Jigokuraku manga centers on Gabimaru, once exalted as the strongest ninja, but who has now quit his trade, violating the laws of his village. After being captured, he claims he has nothing left to live for. However, due to his superhuman levels of training, he has inadvertently survived multiple executions, from attempts at beheading to burning at the stake. The executioner Sagiri Asaemon tells him that he has lingering attachment to life, and issues him a mission to win his acquittal: to find the elixir of immortality.

Kaku launched the manga on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ website and app in January 2018, and ended the series in January 2021. The manga's 13th and final volume shipped in April 2021.

The manga inspired a television anime adaptation, which premiered in April 2023. The anime will also get a second season that will premiere in January 2026.

Viz Media is releasing Kōta Kawae's Nue no Onmyōji manga in North America, and it describes the story:

Kawae launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in May 2023. Shueisha published the manga's 11th volume on September 4.
