I guess this means we'll be getting a second season of Oniichan no Koto... ?

I try to stay upbeat but when something with art that looks that bad, with a story so mediocre and humor that weak sells this well I have to wallow for a bit. Oh why oh why can't the shows I like make sales lists like this?

wallowing over.

Depends how 'well' you think ~2.3k BD copies sold is.

EDIT: And Onii-chan no Koto didn't even sell 2k BD copies for its first vol. No way it gets a 2nd season.

Eh, this is just a ranking, so if nothing is selling high that week, random stuff can show up on the list.

Here's the numbers from those unverified, anonymous sources:

*1 -- 5,416 **5,416 *1 Strike Witches BD box reissue
*3 -- 2,374 **2,374 *1 GOSICK BD vol.1
*4 -- 2,363 **2,363 *1 KamiNomi vol.4
*5 -- 1,911 **1,911 *1 Oniichan no Koto vol.3
*8 *3 1,485 *59,252 *3 Madoka vol.1
*9 -- 1,396 **1,396 *1 Koe de Oshigoto! vol.2
10 -- 1,104 **1,104 *1 Arakawa under the Bridge × Bridge Vol. 5
14 -- *,854 ***,854 *1 Kaichō wa Maid-sama! 10
15 *8 *,828 103,443 *6 Mobile Suit Gundam UC #3

SW did decently for a BD box reissue.
Other than that, no high first-week numbers from anything.

I'm happy to see Gosick doing better in sales. I guess the recent story arc is picking up fans.

Better? It's first week sales for the first volume, and it's probably just barely breaking even, if that. Over the course of 13 volumes, sales will likely go down, as most shows do.

Don't crunch numbers but I figured ratings have to count for something and all three volumes have rated in their first week, #5, #13, and now #4.

Or maybe the lesson here is that if your broadcast version blocks all fanservice with huge Octagons and animal figures (even of oddly proportioned bobble-headed characters) people will buy it to see what was hidden.

Softenni is going to sell like hotcakes.

Softeni will be lucky to sell what Onii-chan no Koto did.

The first vol is ranked at #1,156 out of all DVD/BDs on Amazon.co.jp right now.

It's gonna flop so bad.
