Now who will they get to play the part. I could see Samuel doing it. Unless they have someone else in mind.

Other than the manga, Afro Samurai is one property that was produced almost entirely for Western audiences. No Japanese audio version of the show exists. So it would seem to me a Samuel L. Jackson-produced live action version of the franchise would make sense. Hopefully it will be good and not epic fail like some of the more recent anime-to-Hollywood adaptations (Dragonball: Evolution or Speed Racer, anyone??)

This movie is going to bomb harder than a wrestler's attempt at serious acting. Nothing is going to change that. Have you even heard of this studio? I know I haven't.

He said previously that he wouldn't be, that they needed someone younger for the role.

So long as they axe that Ninja Ninja character, then I approve of this. God, what an insipid worthless character.

They're picking up a lot of live-action foreign action titles, lately, so I think they know their stuff.

Anything by Samuel L. (Mother-bleep-) Jackson is gold.

I disagree. Every movie needs comic relief, and though Samuel L. Jackson needs a younger actor for the lead role, he would kick ass (just as he did in the anime) in the role of Ninja Ninja.

But anyone ELSE playing that character would be epic fail indeed!

Not necessarily from a periphery character though, like some fans didn't like Mr. Satan/Hercule or videogame fairies or Kon to sell merchandise from Bleach. But if S.L.J. does play the character, he may yet rescue the part.
