I have to say that this is one of the best animes I have ever watched. I have been watching the dub nonstop hulu and it keeps getting better and better. I even bought the 1st box set of Monster knowing Viz for some reason is not releasing the other box sets. So now lets discuss the future of this awesome anime.
Do you think it is destined to only be available to watch digitally on sites like hulu/netflix? Will really not release anything else relating to Monster on DVD? Will Viz likely renew the license since they probably do make some money off of hulu/netflix? I have also heard that Viz is considering to give Monster another chance on DVD if the streams do well enough. Lets all set up bots to watch on hulu lol! Where did you hear that?
The reason the dvds haven't sold is because no one ever expected Viz to release the whole set, and they were right. But I still can't understand how it's cost effective to sit on the completed series instead of issuing at least a small pressing of dvds to recoup their investment. I'd think the most expensive part of a dvd release is the dubbing and licensing and both of those are already done and paid for. |
