So I'm sure many of you already know this already but there are currently some madoka magica films in the works as confirmed on the cover of newtype magazine.

The first two movie are suppose to a compilation of the original series, while the third is suppose to be new material. http://www.japanator.com/wait-what-the-madoka-movie-is-actually-a-trilogy-20714.phtml#comment I'm not sure how I entirely feel about this. On one hand I'm super pumped to see a new movie, On the other I'm sort of worried about the new material. I personally really liked the ending, therefore I'm kind of worried that additional material might just end up pissing a lot of people off (*cough* end of evangelion *cough*). Alternatively it may be interesting to see how things played out after the end. However of course that is assuming the last movie continues from the end of the series at all. The producer just said it was new material, so it could be something unrelated to the original plot entirely. What do you guys think? Excited? End of Evangelion pissed people off? By giving an ending to the series?

I actually loved End of Evangelion, but allot of people preferred the series ending for some reason. |

Not in my experience. There are people who say that the TV ending was fine and there was no need for EoE, but usually the people who are pissed about the latter are at least just as pissed about the former. Speaking about Madoka, I am skeptical about the project. I don't think there were things left unresolved in the main story big enough to warrant a movie. I think the last scene after the credits did leave some opening. And there has been a fair amount of other media (mainly manga) that deals with different characters in the same world. I'd definitely watch it, just to see what they do. |

Pretty sure spoiler[jerking off to comatose girls, killing Misato, Asuka, and technically (since Tang doesn't breathe) everyone else] weren't the kind of fanservice folks were expecting from all those next episode preview promises. Besides, all EoE did was provide context for the last two episodes of the series anyway. |

Don't light the powder keg that is NGE, which has nothing to do with this, stick to the topic.
I personally wouldn't mind more Madoka Magica material since the ending didn't make a whole lot of sense to me and I'm hoping this new film can shed a bit of light on it. I wish it would have been a whole trilogy of new material though instead of 2 being recap films which are usually never as good as the series they're compressing. |

Yeah I've personally felt recap movies to be little better then cash-ins also. However with regards to the third movie would you rather see a direct sequel or something different set in the same universe? Kyubey showed that there were plenty of women in the past who had a contract with him. Anyone of those could make a pretty interesting new story without messing with the original series ending. |
