What is the preferred format for adding Japanese titles with both kana and romaji? I’ve noticed everyone kind of does it their own way. I’ve seen:

01. Translated Title
Romaji Title
Kana Title

01. Translated Title
Romaji Title/Kana Title

01. Translated Title
Romaji Title | Kana Title

01. Translated Title
Romaji Title Kana Title

When more than one of these formats is used in one episode listing, it makes things look a little messy, and even confusing. There really should be a set way of doing this. If there isn’t, people will continue to make up new ways and things will get more and more disorganized looking.

Maybe it's not a big issue, but I'd still like to know. Which is the “right” way?

I always do this:

2005- 20. Ah! Save the Goddess, If You're a Man!?
05-26 .......「ああっ女神を救えっオトコならっ?」 Aa! Megami wo Sukue! Otoko Nara!?

I prefer the romaji and kana to be on separate lines because it's more organized. I think it looks better that way, and less cluttered (especially for longer Japanese titles). I tend to put the romaji first and then the kana after, but not for any particular reason. It might look better with the kana first. Anime dazed; A uniform way would indeed be a good idea.

Seconded. The reason I input titles this way is that romaji acts as a "bridge" between Japanese and Latin letters. However, in many cases romanji titles are not as easily available or verified as kanji titles. Except kana-only titles, many titles contain kanji characters with multiple spellings and could be verified only by furigana or careful listening.

Personally I don't recommend using quotation marks at both ends of an episode title, either Western ("") or Asian (「」). Most TV shows have title with quotation marks shown on TV but not on dedicated episode guides.
