School Rumble. You will definitely like this series. It's a very cookey romantic comedy. I like to think of it as a mix between Excel Saga (because of the parodies), Azumanga Daioh (because of the characters), GTO (because of the comedy), and a little bit of Kare Kano (because of the romance).

However, don't take my comparisons to heart. The show can easily stand alone on its own merits, but I'm merely mentioning these other titles to give you a clue as to the similar elements you can expect.

I also love the intro (it's so upbeat Anime hyper).

Well, it's not really the same genre as the others, but Rune Soldier is a pretty effective comedy show; like Excel Saga, it goes through most of its run without a real plot until the end, but is funny enough that you don't notice.

Ai yori Aoshi is similar to Love Hina in that it has plenty of fanservice/comedy situations, though there's a serious side, too.

I agree School Rumble is like Azumanga Daioh. I was laughing my ass off when watching School Rumble is so freaking funny.

The funniest part where I laughed so loud was when: spoiler[Harima confessed to the wrong person to Eri and then it shows Eri's thoughts which were "oh me? Oh err well what kind of food does he like, why so sudden" etc but when it shows to Harima's thoughts it was "Holy Mosses I confessed to the wrong person". Anime dazed Laughing ]

There's a whole other funny stuff like the Matrix moment. Cool

It's a very short series, but Dragon Half is a great comedy. Only two episodes long, so you can just pop it in and laugh your ass off for an hour without having to worry a whole lot about character development or plot Laughing Also has an insane ending theme song (which I've memorized Anime smile)

School rumble is funny like excel saga with Azumanga all mixed in together.Azumanga without the repetitive joke syndrome and the fast paced actions of Excel saga and parodies of orther classic anime shows.

The best scene in school rumble has to be....spoiler[The scene in the summer beach ep where Harima is stripping off and Eri's walks in.What a killer scene!!!!! ]

Rune Soldier is more of parody on the whole fantasy genre with some nice twist and turn of events... and I love it. Must own at only $40 boxset.

I'm really liking Yakitate Japan! It's about a boy who wants to make Ja-Pan, bread made for and by the Japanese. He has the super power of warm hands, so he's a great baker. This show is very funny. If you like GTO's faces, you'll love everybodys reactions after eating his bread. If you don't mind fansubs, I would highly recomend it.

Sakura Diaries
I My Me Strawberry Eggs
Chobits
Girls Bravo
DNA 2
Negima

I suppose the first four on that list qualify as shojo anime...but I found all of those to be hilarious. The last two are shonen anime. I'd say the funniest between them all is Chobits and Sakura Diaries.

Umm... no, they are pretty much all shonen anime. Girls Bravo - shoujo? It's a fanservice/harem series. Sakura Diaries - shoujo? You've got a college age guy trying to figure out about love in some aspect or other while being obsessed with the idea of sex at the same time. Chobits has clearly been shown to be shounen series as well, in terms of a male falling in love.

Falling in love is not a theme restricted to shoujo by any means. Shounen romance will fall under the male perspective however, and his viewpoints. Moreover, a harem style series will often degrade women to some extent - creating some false idealization of what a woman should be, and what a male can expect to happen. While the concept of a male walking in on nude girls is amusing, it's also overused and highly unrealistic. For some reason though, it's become a staple of almost every harem show out there.

Okay so maybe I over extended the definition of shojo here...but it isn't like I tried to say Najica is a shojo or something Razz. And it isn't so much the idea of falling in love. Dragon Ball Z has people falling in love. Samurai Champloo had people falling in love. Cowboy Bebop has themes of love. It is more the focus of love. I guess it is hard to explain my reasoning. Heck, i'd probably classify Fake as being a shojo...but that is more on the bias that I only see girls read that manga (I tried to once, but a spoiler[gay sex scene] made me choose to not continue on. I guess I have a weak stomach for that). But anyways, I suppose the clarification was necessary, since some people avoid "girly" manga/anime. Would you consider Ichigo 100% or Full Moon to be shojo?
