I didn't much like how you moderators deleted my posting on that Jubei Kibugami Anime that slanders a Japanese Christian saint. If you're going to be a bunch of censorship huggers, it would be nice to know.

It's very rare that we delete any posts. If one of the moderators (Cookie I assume) did delete your post I'm sure he had a good reason, and you were probably told by PM.

Plus, part of the reason to have moderators is to prevent the board from falling into chaos - if someone posts a thread that will generate controversy and a flame war then it is within the rights of the moderator to delete the thread. And thread deleting is something that is done very rarely on any borad that I have been on - most of the time you just lock the thread.

Not me.. I've only fully deleted a thread once or twice, and have deleted few posts outside of "[ATTN] General Anime Questions". Typically, if I feel it's inappropriate, I'll lock the thread and then reply saying that the thread has been locked.. and if I edit a post, i'll leave [EDIT: reason by -C] or [EDITED by C] or some-such. |

Well, 3 for 3. Either one of the mods is lying (I highly doubt it) or you made a mistake with your post and it was never saved...
Well, the point is to generate conversation, not controversy. But we won't delete a thread because it is controvercial (we may lock it if people stop saying anything intelligent). We only delete obscene posts. |

If it's any consolation, take it from someone who learned the hard way; when they don't like something you've posted and they feel moved to lock down/delete it, they let you know about it in no uncertain terms.

I don't approve of censorship in any form however the moderators have the right to delete any posts they find to be objectionable. I guess we just have to deal with it
